Cricut Joy - why is line weight is uneven?

I'm getting inconsistent line weight on basic forms... circles, rectangles, etc. It's always the right side that cuts a point or 2 thicker. If you can see the image, it's the right side of the circles. They're a point or two thicker than the left. It's made in illustrator - the line weight does not vary. It's an intermittent problem with no clear cause. These are small, but It happens at any size, even if I change the line weight and re-import the file. Any idea what causes this? I'm using both removable and permanent vinyl. Help please!
